What? Freepapertoys.com is a Blog now?!!

Hello to all paper model lovers that have enjoyed our free paper toys we created and our free paper toys directory. Don't panic those pages still do exist, we are just adding a blog. We figured that it is time for a change. The internet is changing and we basically have remained pretty much the same since we first started back in the late 90's. My hopes are this blog will create a better user experience. We want to encourage you as paper model hobbiests and paper model creators to add your ideas, questions, comments, suggestions, experiences, stories about paper model building and creating. It may take time to for us to get used to this new blog experience so be patient with us and feel free to make suggestions about ways to better it.

Have loved your website for some years.
It's always first port of call if we are having respite foster children - isn't it suprising how some cut out dolls or paper masks can amuse for so long at minimum cost.
Personaly I am amassing some model railway buildings to 'cut & shut' into a layout when, and if I retire.
I would like to explore the world of resizing printouts in the future.
Congratulations on your commitment to the site.
Ps this is my first time too

Thank you so much! So glad you have found our site useful. It is nice to hear about children having fun with paper models! It is wonderful of you to care for foster children and encourage creative activities.

Thank You again!

I love Freepapertoys.com, but my only gripe about the site is that there should be a page that shows a listing of what new papercraft models have been added to the site at any given time. Going through each catagory looking for whats "NEW" is a pain in the butt. Again, a single page showing any updates or additions would be better.

For the suggestion of a "What's New" page for the freepapertoys.com directory: That is a very good suggestion! I will try to incorporate this in the future. Thank You for your suggestion.

It's great to hear from our visitors, and I hope that you will keep coming back. My favorite models to design and build are my organic models, like The Cat, Yoda, Frankenpaper and Dracula. I have recently upgraded my 3d modeling program from Imagine (a magical program from the late 80's and early 90's) to Sketchup (an amazing modern piece of software available from Google). So I seem to be up against something of leaning curve. To be fair it's not that Sketchup is harder to use, it's that I had 17 years to get used to Imagine and I have only had Sketchup for a couple of months.

Early last year I had planned to design and publish Dracula for Halloween 2005 and The Mummy for Halloween 2006 Of course at the time I did not guess that I would be learning to use a new program and studying for a new and challenging job, at the same time I was trying to design and publish a new organic model.

I still have high hopes that I can beat the Sketchup learning curve and publush my Mummy in time for Halloween this year. So keep your fingers crossed.

I have enjoyed perusing your site for several years, and think you provide an excellent service. I like the fact that you signify what is new. How about adding a feature that allows users to upload models that are no longer available?

re: upload models that are no longer available?

Good idea. The only problem I can for see is trying to verify the ownership of the paper models and get permissions. I would consider featuring models for paper model artists who have no other options as far as web space.
Thanks!
